Welcome to issue 22 of APANews! Its always exciting to see how each new issue develops, and this one is no exception. It has a number of interesting articles and contributions from a wide range of sources and countries. I trust that this issue contains something of interest for all our readers and that it will be informative and will stimulate further discussion.
Communication in the world has changed considerably in the last two decades. Distances that were once thought to be unbridgable are now relatively close (e.g. nearly everyone in the world is a simple phone call away). One of the most powerful new communication mediums is the Internet. As you will have noticed,
APANews has a section dedicated to agroforestry-related web sites. For those of you with access to the Internet, we encourage you to have a look at some of these web sites, as they contain a wealth of information. If you come across web sites that you consider interesting for other APANews readers, please forward the link to the editors so that they can include it in the next edition. We are trying to keep this list updated and current.
We are happy to announce that APANews has been put on the Internet. Volumes 1-16 can be found at the FAO Forestry web site under the heading publications (on the right hand side of the FAO forestry page) or by simply typing the following link: http://www.fao.org/forestry/foris/webview/forestry2/index.jsp?siteId=3166&langId=1 We hope to have the following issues posted in the near future.
APANews strives to facilitate information exchange among the individuals and organizations that are subscribed. The articles published in this newsletter are submitted by you, our readers. This is an important feature of APANews as it lets you, the reader, have a major role in deciding the input for each issue. We therefore strongly encourage your continued support in contributing timely and interesting inputs.
