CURRENT SITUATION
The main agricultural activity is livestock, and the country is entirely dependent on imports, mostly commercial, for cereal consumption. There are a substantial number of refugees in the country receiving international assistance. Cereal import needs in 1995 amount to 115 000 tons (including re-exports). Food aid is estimated at 11 000 tons.
