The standing panel for the Inter-Centre Review of Root and Tuber Crops Research in the CGIAR expresses its sincere appreciation to the workshop participants who attended the University of Maryland meeting, May 30-June 2, 1995. The contributions of the workshop participants greatly facilitated the activities of the standing panel, and provided an enormously valuable forum for the exchange of ideas on issues, options, and recommendations to advance root and tuber crops research within the CGIAR system.
The standing panel gratefully acknowledges the excellent leadership provided by the workshop facilitator, Mr. Donal O'Hare of O'Hare Associates, Inc. in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. O'Hare's professional skills in leading the meeting contributed greatly to the broadly acknowledged success of the workshop and its value to the panel.
The panel also gratefully acknowledges the support and assistance that were received from the TAC Secretariat throughout the planning and organization of the workshop, and during the Inter-Centre Review. Special appreciation is extended to Dr. Guido Gryseels and Dr. Vivian Timon of the Secretariat.
