Tasks. The agreed work tasks included the following: To conduct an acoustic fishing survey for small pelagic fish on the shelf and to conduct bottom trawling experiments for demersal fish. The hydrographic profiles run during the previous survey were to be repeated.
Survey plan. This was largely to be a repetition of the programme of Survey III with special emphasis on the nearshore area and excluding the broad offshore deep part of the shelf in the Gulf of Tehuantepec where the fauna seems mainly to consist of manta shrimp - Squilla.
