Figure 3 shows the distribution of temperature, salinity and oxygen in the profile of Trinidads north coast towards north, and that of Mayaro Bay towards east. The isolines of oxygen and temperature in the Trinidad north profile lift towards the coast and demonstrate transport of intermediate water shorewards and up into the euphoric layer. The up-welling of intermediate water may originate from the relative strong easterly wind blowing along the coast. Upwelling is less pronounced if any in the profile off the Mayaro Bay.
