Technical meeting of the Inter-Agency Working Group, Geneva, June 2000.
An IAWG technical meeting is planned to take place in Geneva during the month of June. The purpose of the meeting is fourfold: (1) to approve priorities for the development of new IAWG-FIVIMS guidelines for publication; (2) to comment on draft documents in progress; (3) to guide work in progress on identification of vulnerable groups and selection of food insecurity and vulnerability indicators; and (4) to consider a possible restructuring of the four IAWG sub-working groups.
Regional FIVIMS Workshop for Southern and Eastern Africa, Harare, September 2000.
This is the first in the series of regional workshops that will cover the spectrum of topics associated with setting up a national FIVIMS information exchange network, such as the identification of vulnerable groups, taking stock of existing information and mapping resources, user needs assessment, selecting indicators, Key Indicators and Mapping System (KIMS), institutional capacity building, food security and vulnerability information products. etc.
Technical Consultation Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM), WFP. Rome, 10 - 14 April 2000.
A five-days technical consultation meeting on VAM will take place from 10 - 14 April 2000 at WFP head quarters in Rome. The goal is to define in a constructive manner the current best practice in Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping, review in a critical way the VAM methodology, assess the main user needs and define technical support that meet those needs.

David Wilcock will attend this meeting representing the IAWG FIVIMS Secretariat at the specific request of the IAWG in order to promote closer collaboration between the two efforts at inter-agency co-operation.
