Programme prospectus This is a module of a
comprehensive nine-month course on land and water management, which is
subdivided into subjects presented on a weekly basis. The irrigation
management-water distribution module covers design, implementation, maintenance
and performance evaluation of large-scale pressurized and open channel water
distribution systems, optimization of water management and participatory
irrigation management.

Brief description of institution/organization The
Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (IAMB) is one of the four institutes
that make up the Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques
Méditerranéennes (CIHEAM), founded in 1962 as an intergovernmental
organization under the auspices of the OECD (Organization for Economic
Co-operation and Development).
The CIHEAM mandate is to be an instrument of cooperation
between the countries of the Mediterranean in the areas of postgraduate
agricultural education and the promotion of agricultural research through
cooperative networks.
Currently, CIHEAM comprises 13 member countries: Albania,
Algeria, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Spain,
Tunisia and Turkey.
Over four decades of activity, CIHEAM has become known for
excellence in the field of education and research in agriculture, water-resource
management, agri-food industry and the environment, working in partnership with
the specialist national institutions as well as in cooperation with the
international organizations active in the Region (e.g. ICARDA, FAO, OADA,
etc.). |
