Programme prospectus
As farmers in the developing world move towards market production, they will be increasingly interested in applying more efficient irrigation methods, such as sprinkler irrigation, various forms of micro-irrigation, subsurface irrigation and centre pivot irrigation. These methods demand relatively high investments and therefore advice is necessary to help farmers decide on the most appropriate method of irrigation. This lecture deals with modern irrigation techniques, their technical features and their field of application in developing countries.
