Brief description of
institution/organization
Agricultural Engineering Department was
established in 1975. Although the subject has been taught since the inception of
the Agricultural Degree programme in 1947, at present, the Department has 14
academic staff cadres and offers courses for both Undergraduates and
Postgraduates in Agriculture. The academic staff also undertakes research in the
following disciplines and participates in national development programmes
through public as well as private organizations.
The major areas of teaching and research are: irrigation water
management, watershed management, farm power and machinery management, energy
and waste management, electronics and instrumentation in agriculture, post
harvest technology and remote sensing and GIS. |
