An FAO/WFP Crop and Food Supply Assessment Mission in April 2003 estimated cereal production at 73 000 tonnes. This is 4 percent above the poor crop of last year but still 30 percent below the average level. Cereal import requirements have increased to 128 000 tonnes, including 24 000 tonnes of food aid.
