目前，粮农组织的权力下放办事处网络覆盖152个国家，其中包括85个驻各国办事处，很多都成立于1977年至1979年期间。
虽然粮农组织在欧洲和中亚设立驻国家代表处的时间较晚（20世纪90年代至21世纪），但粮农组织早在1977年就在该地区执行了首批项目。
粮农组织拥有5个区域办事处、10个分区域办事处，以及85个代表处。其中包括6个伙伴关系和联络办公室、37个多重委任办公室、1个计划办公室、4个国家通讯员、6个联络办公室、2个信息办公室和2个其他驻地安排。
粮农组织通过伙伴关系和联络办公室来打开或加强粮农组织在各国的影响，使其更好地与捐助方及伙伴进行合作。
