Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Increasing access to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and to global positioning systems (GPS), as well as the availability of spatial data bases through the Internet, mean that more and more livestock applications have quite explicit spatial components. Here, we summarise the major GIS-related activities that are ongoing in AGA, by way of a series of one-page briefs. The briefs are intended to direct the browser to the appropriate contact persons and web sites, and to provide a summary of the activity, by the following headings: Background, Objective, Beneficiaries and Outputs.
