The state of statistics is such that systematic exploratory surveys must be made to monitor the state of stocks. Senegal should resume this research as soon as its vessel problem has been solved. CECAF should speed up delivery on a specialized course in organizing and conducting exploratory surveys, statistical data processing and data interpretation in multi-species environments.
