The Chairperson of the Informal Working Group, in consultation with the Chairperson of the Twenty-fifth Session of the Committee on Fisheries, has informed the Secretariat that Appendix G to Document CL 124/7 had the following omissions and requested that they should be reflected in that Appendix to the Report of the Committee on Fisheries.
In the preambular section, beginning with “taking account of ….”, the following phrase should be added to the end of the paragraph:
[… and the view that CITES listings of commercially exploited aquatic resources should be limited to exceptional cases only and when all relevant bodies associated with the management of the species in question agree that such a listing would be advantageous.]
In addition, at the end of operative paragraph 6, the following phrase should be added:
[In particular, this shall include the position that CITES listings of commercially exploited aquatic resources should be limited to exceptional cases only and when all relevant bodies associated with the management of the species in question agree that such a listing would be advantageous.]
