"We need more focused research for small farmers", says Louise Fresco, President, Executive Board of Wageningen, the Netherlands, at the end of her speech at the Symposium on Agricultural Biotechnologies. "The main problem with biotechnologies are the concerns in civil society, that this is a kind of technique that might get out of hands", continues Louise Fresco, convinced that we have gone a long way in the last twenty years and new technique do not need to resort to genetically modified crops.
