Launch of the Joint CIHEAM-FAO Publication Mediterra 2016

Mediterra 2016

In the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) and FAO (signed on 23 October 2015), the organizations have developed, for the first time ever, a joint CIHEAM-FAO Edition 2016 of Mediterra. Published every two years in English and in French, Mediterra is the CIHEAM’s flagship publication. This joint edition of Mediterra is entitled “ZERO WASTE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN: Natural Resources, Food and Knowledge”. The overarching theme is waste of natural resources, food and knowledge and ways to fight scarcities. The report is linked to green growth, sustainable development and food security and nutrition challenges in the context of the 2030 Development Agenda.

Objective
To launch the joint CIHEAM-FAO Edition 2016 of Mediterra and to foster discussion among governments and other relevant actors on the innovations and inclusive policies needed to respond to the challenges faced by the Mediterranean region, particularly in terms of the triple wastes related to natural resources, food and knowledge.
