Florence Lasbennes is an agronomist who graduated from the French National Institute of Agronomy, with specialization and field experience on land issues, rural development and post-crisis recovery in Africa.  She was head of the unit for Food Security and Economic Development in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the coordinator of the French inter-ministerial group on food security, set up in 2008 following the rapid rise of food prices in the global market. She has worked in the coordination team of the UN High Level Task Force on Global Food Security from mid-2009 and has been leader and Chief of Staff of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General for Food Security and Nutrition since early 2011. She has participated in the set up and management of the Secretariat of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement since 2012. She is now Director of the SUN Movement Secretariat.
