The deadline for submitting videos to the Congress has now passed. We are no longer accepting videos but we look forward to your participation at the Congress.

Submitted videos will be reviewed according to the guidelines and put on display in designated areas at the Congress venue. A few videos may be chosen for presentation during thematic sessions, and during plenary sessions.

Length

Videos can be a maximum of 10 minutes long.

Content

Submitted videos should comply with the following criteria:

• Have a subject relevant to the overall Congress theme, as well as to one or several of the subthemes
• Videos will be regarded and reviewed as stand-alone contributions, and should deliver the intended message clearly without the need for any accompanying written information.
• Any language can be used in the video, but if the language(s) is not English, French or Spanish, there should be sub-titles in English, French or Spanish
• Each video should contain a title slide stating name of organization(s)/person(s) submitting, title, year produced, and any crucial acknowledgements
• All material and filming should pay due respect to individuals, communities, animals and ecosystems, ensuring that no distress is caused by the production or screening of the video.
• New/not previously screened video material is preferred, though not required.
• The authors of the video must have clear copyright of the audio and visual content.

Format

The following formats can be accepted: .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mp4, and .mpg. Resolution must be a minimum of 1280 x 720 (HD), optimally 1920 x 1080 (Full HD). H264 codec is preferred. The footage and audio should be of sufficient quality to be screened in an auditorium.

Submission

Authors should first upload the file to the internet on a private file sharing site that the author chooses (Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive are some examples of free file sharing sites). The corresponding author of accepted papers, posters and videos will receive an email with a link to the online platform where the video can be submitted. Please select the appropriate abstract title and click to open the abstract page. Authors should then paste a web link (URL) in the box marked “Link to downloadable video file” where FAO can download the video file.

Do not email video files to the conference email address. Due to large file sizes we will not be able to receive them.

User rights and responsibilities

By submitting a poster or video to the Congress the author/creator allows FAO to display the submitted poster or video (along with a name and organizational credit) in connection with the Congress and the promotion of FAO’s work.

Authors should insert the following text near the start or end of the video.  “The views expressed in this information product are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of FAO.”
