Marine studies vessel Dr Fridtjof Nansen is expected in Tema, Ghana, 14 Sept. 2017

EAF-Nansen Programme 2017 survey on pelagic resources and ecosystem is underway. Dr Fridtjof Nansen is the only research ship on the globe that flies the UN flag.

Its mission: to investigate some of the planet's least-explored oceans, using cutting-edge technology and sophisticated equipment to help developing countries assemble scientific data critical to sustainable fisheries management and study how a changing climate is affecting our oceans. 

The vessel will reach the Ghanaian harbour of Tema on 14 September 2017 and will weigh anchor on 15 September sailing to Pointe-Noire, Congo, on its third and final leg of the 2017 survey.
