Online Capacity Building Program and South-South Exchange Series on Agricultural mechanization
11/03/2026 - 22/04/2026
Smallholder farmers across Africa face labour shortages, climate pressures, and the urgent need to increase productivity and incomes. Sustainable agricultural mechanization has proven to reduce drudgery, expand cultivated areas, and improve efficiency, yet major gaps remain in skills, financing, policy, inclusion, and coordination.
In response to priorities identified by African countries, the Regional Office for Africa of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation are launching a series of capacity-building and South-South exchange initiatives under the Global South-South Development Center Project Phase II.
The programme will focus on mechanization service models, financing, policy frameworks, and climate-smart mechanization to strengthen partnerships, share practical solutions, and accelerate inclusive, sustainable mechanization across Africa.
