Common name: Bunch grass

Eco&Biol. Perennial.

Stem: appears as clumps, 75-120 cm tall, culms erect.

Leaves: 3-9 mm wide, mostly glabrous, sometimes upper leaves have thin hairs.

Inflorescence: numerous, erect rigid spike, resembling elongated ear of wheat, 2-5 mm long awns. Propagation by seed.

Flowering time: June - July

Distribution: Common in meadows, alternate fallows and along roadside throughout forest steppe zone of Mongolia.

Control measures: Appropriate tillage in June or July will control this weed during peak flowering stages.
