Publications of the International Rice Commission

 

Depending on available resources, the Secretariat prepares and publishes one or more issues of the Commission’s Regular Newsletters in a year. A total of 56 Issues of IRC Newsletters were published. The last issue, volume 56 was published in 2007 (see below). Hard copies of the IRC Newsletters were distributed to more than 1000 institutions in member countries and partners such as IRRI, CIAT, and the Africa Rice Centre. Electronic versions of publications of the IRC, as well as other publications related to rice are also made available at http://www.fao.org/docrep/

International Rice Commission Newsletter 56

In line with the efforts to disseminate information on rice and related topics, Volume 56 of the International Rice Commission Newsletter contains information on the current situation of the world rice market, the performance of rice production and the challenges faced in the 2000– 10 decade, and the technical options for enhanced sustainable rice production. It also provides an insight into the orientation and technical development of rice programmes in selected member countries and recent international and regional initiatives to support sustainable rice production.
