Launch of Shiny RIMA: a new tool to measure resilience to food insecurity

11.05.2022

The new Shiny RIMA web-based tool is part of the framework of the resilience measurement and analyses conducted by the RIMA team in the Agrifood Economics Division, in which FAO has been at the forefront of efforts to measure resilience to food insecurity since 2008. FAO has pioneered the development and use of the Resilience Index Measurement and Analysis (RIMA) methodology.

The tool is available here: www.fao.org/agrifood-economics/areas-of-work/rima/shiny

What is Shiny RIMA?

Shiny RIMA is an innovative tool developed to facilitate resilience measurement and analysis without compromising the scientific rigor of the Resilience Index Measurement and Analysis (RIMA). It makes RIMA analyses more accessible, thus contributing to evidence-based policymaking. It is also useful for users to generate rapidly some analyses and graphs for reporting. In short, Shiny RIMA contributes to make the resilience analysis process – from data collection to analysis – more accessible and efficient for decentralized offices and FAO’s partners.

How to use Shiny RIMA?

The presentation on how to use the Shiny RIMA tool is available on Zoom (passcode: cf8?URjg).
