Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO)

The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), created in 1957, is an international, regional, autonomous, academic and plural organization, made up of 18 Member States and two observers, to promote teaching and research in the field of Social Sciences. It carries out academic activities in 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Originally, FLACSO was established only in Chile (1957-1974). From 1974 onwards, it began its geographic expansion, which is currently expressed in seven Headquarters (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala and Mexico) and six Academic Programs (Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Paraguay and Uruguay).
