The Laboratorio Tecnológico del Uruguay (LATU) was created on 1 April 1965, initially called the Laboratory of Analysis and Testing. On 28 August 1975 it was renamed as it is today. Its mission is to promote the sustainable development of the country and its international insertion through innovation and transfer of value solutions in analytical, conformity assessment, metrological and technological services, promotion of scientific and entrepreneurial culture and the development of technological platforms.
