El Colegio de Michoacán Joins AGRIS to Promote Research on Land Ownership and Ethnoecology

El Colegio de Michoacán

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) welcomes El Colegio de Michoacán (COLMICH) from Mexico as a new member of the International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS).

Founded on January 15, 1979, by historian Luis González y González, COLMICH aims to decentralize scientific research in Mexico and promote academic development within the country. Initially, the institution had two research centers in anthropology and history, and it has since expanded to include centers dedicated to rural studies, archaeology, human geography, and heritage analysis.

By joining AGRIS, COLMICH contributes 267 records on land ownership, coffee communities, coffee, ethnoecology, and more. Click here to learn more.
