This progress has significantly increased Peru’s contributions to AGRIS. The number of active data providers in Peru has risen from just 6 before 2023 to 38 today. This growth shows the collaborative efforts between AGRIS and FAO Peru, as well as the dedication of Peruvian institutions to advancing agricultural research and knowledge-sharing.

At the opening of the AGRIS presentation event in Peru, Mr. Fernando Castro, Projects Coordinator in Food Systems at FAO Peru, emphasized the importance of expanding scientific knowledge and applying it to overcome modern challenges. He highlighted the event’s pivotal role in disseminating agricultural research and fostering global knowledge exchange to advance food systems.

This remarkable achievement reflects the close collaboration between AGRIS and the FAO office in Peru, which has been instrumental in connecting local research with the international system. By contributing these records, Peruvian institutions are not only enhancing their international visibility but also empowering researchers, policymakers, and farmers with the knowledge needed to address pressing agricultural challenges and innovate for the future.
