First Global Forum of the UN Decade of Family Farming 2019-2028 from 19 to 22 September 2022 at 12.30 -15.30 CEST

After three years of implementation, the UN Decade of Family Farming 2019-2028 (UNDFF) will host its first Global Forum on 19-22 September 2022. Co-organized by FAO-IFAD, the Forum will leverage the experiences of different actors to take stock of the achievements and challenges faced since launching the UNDFF. Discussions will lead to the identification of priority policies and technical areas that will shape the UNDFF agenda for the next period of implementation, to accelerate the transition to context-specific, diversified, resilient and sustainable agri-food systems, for a better environment and a better life for rural communities.

Objectives of the Forum

  1. Exchange good practices, successful processes, experiences and concrete policy solutions for the support of family farming;
  2. Highlight the key emerging policy/technical areas, actions and instruments to enable family farmers to achieve diversified, innovative and dynamic farming systems;
  3. Scale out and scale up efforts to promote multistakeholder partnerships and cooperation for the promotion, development and effective implementation of policies, strategies and programmes, enabling family farmers to fulfil their transformative potential.
