Since 2003, the Brazilian Congress of Agroecology (CBA) has been held with the active and wide participation of educational, research and extension institutions and organized civil society involved with the demands of family farming and family production logics in general. Initially thought as a space for valuing agroecology as a science, CBA has been maturing as a true space for dialogue between scientific and practical knowledge, built by all partners of family and peasant agriculture, in Brazil and worldwide.

The theme of the XI edition of the Congress is - Ecology of Knowledge: Science, Culture and Art in the Democratization of Agri-Food Systems.

Environments of knowledge will facilitate the most diverse methodological expressions of agroecology through dialogues in identitary groups (youth, women, indigenous people) and in mixed groups. The interaction of innovation and traditional knowledge carried out by farmers aligned with the scientific-academic universe will be showcased. Children and adults will be able to co-create and share knowledge and the exchange of experiences on the different ways of knowing and doing appropiation of existing resources in rural and urban territories based on the tradition and identity will be presented.
