FAO and the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) are pleased to announce the webinar "Fertigation – a tool to simultaneously improve water and nutrient use efficiency", as part of the new series focused on sustainable plant nutrition.

Following a successful first event on microbials, this new webinar will focus on fertigation, a technique that entails applying liquid or water-soluble fertilizer to plants through irrigation systems. By simultaneously supplying plants with their daily water and nutrient needs, fertigation has proven an effective tool to sustainably grow more food in a changing climate or water-stressed areas, and substantially increase water and nutrient use efficiency.

Munir Rusan (Jordan University of Science and Technology), Dubi Raz (Netafim) and Katja Hora (SQM) will lend their academic and technical expertise to this discussion, focusing on best management practices and innovations in micro-irrigation and water-soluble fertilizers.
