The course "Agroecology: Transition towards sustainable food systems" is aimed at representatives of the public and private sectors, civil society, academia, international organizations interested in deepening their knowledge about agroecology, whose fundamental purpose is to disseminate, promote and strengthen knowledge about agroecology and its contribution to achieve a sustainable and resilient food system and promote the development of the rural and rural-urban territory in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Agroecology can support the achievement of multiple objectives: economic, environmental, social, nutritional, health, and cultural in a comprehensive way. It is an approach that contributes directly to the achievement of thirteen of the Sustainable Development Goals, while significantly increasing the resilience of people and the environment, mitigating climate change, and sustainably using and conserving natural resources and biodiversity. It is one of the ways to achieve sustainable food systems.
