Algérie: Launch of the WSI Programme for Sustainable Agricultural Water Management

Alger, 4 May 2026: A technical workshop marked the official launch in Algérie of the FAO regional programme “Water Scarcity Initiative” (WSI). Bringing together representatives from the Ministries of Water Resources, Agriculture and Scientific Research, their affiliated institutions, as well as experts from the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, the programme’s technical partner, the workshop helped identify national intervention priorities around two major pillars: strengthening resilience to drought and improving water supply in saline environments.
