About the Series

Latin America and the Caribbean face significant challenges in moving toward more sustainable agrifood systems, including soil degradation, water stress, pollution, biodiversity loss, and pressure on natural resources. At the same time, the region boasts a wide variety of experiences, innovations, and solutions that are yielding concrete results and can inspire other regions.

With the aim of strengthening knowledge exchange, the FAO Regional Office is launching the regional series of events titled “Let’s Talk About Sustainable Agriculture in Latin America and the Caribbean,” a permanent forum for technical dialogue that will facilitate the sharing of evidence, good practices, and innovative experiences, while fostering collaboration among specialists, institutions, producers, academia, and decision-makers. The series will also help consolidate the regional Sustainable Agriculture website as a leading platform for knowledge management.

The series will begin in 2026 with sessions on good practices, safe production, bioinputs, and sustainable management of plastics in agriculture, and will continue throughout 2027, incorporating new topics and experiences related to sustainable agriculture.
