Objectives
TThe meeting complies with the provisions of the Commission's statutes regarding the holding of regular biennial sessions. Its objectives are to report the measures adopted with respect to the agreements of the previous meeting; reflect collectively on the issues that concern the sustainability and contribution of fisheries and aquaculture to food security, the alleviation of rural poverty and the responsible and harmonious management of natural resources, in line with the needs of the member countries of the Commission, FAO regional priorities and the goals of the UN Sustainable Development Agenda.
