FAO to hold the first virtual fair to address the challenges of the digital transformation of the rural world

On November 16th and 17th, the United Nations for Food and Agriculture (FAO), through its 1000 Digital VIllages for Latin America and the Caribbean initiative, will inaugurate the first virtual fair +Rural +Digital with the participation of FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative  for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mario Lubetkin . The event´s aim is to promote the digital transformation of the rural world  and will kick off on November 16th at  11:00 A.M (GMT-3).

The fair +Rural +Digital is a virtual space to discuss the challenges of digital transformation of the rural world, a process that shows us opportunities but alsoinequities. For this reason, +Rural +Digital is a call to dialogue on how to strengthen the technological transformations and exchange to advance towards more efficient, inclusive, resilient, sustainable, and innovative territories.

This fair convenes enterprises, artisans and small traders, academics, government representatives, cooperation agencies and private companies to exchange experiences, dialogue, alliances and commitments that contribute to improving the digital integration of the rural world.

The fair is open to public participation and has important panelists, booth areas and free training.

The virtual seminar will have Spanish-English interpretation.
