Participants in the online course on audiovisual tools for digital marketing successfully complete their promotional videos

The participants in the first group of the online course Audiovisual tools for digital marketing, an activity carried out within the framework of the 1000 Digital Villages in Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative, have completed their promotional videos produced during the workshop.
More than 70 students participated in six weeks of online classes, during which they received instruction on how to tell a story through images, different types of camera shots, sound and editing of audiovisual pieces. Subsequently, the participants put into practice what they had learned by making videos that showcase the variety of products and services offered by their enterprises.
During the workshop, the young people from Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela and Guatemala were grouped according to their respective rural tourism projects, resulting in the production of eight videos, which can be shared through the social networks of the enterprises. In addition, they will be presented at a virtual fair that will be hosted by the 1000 Digital Villages in Latin America and the Caribbean initiative.
In addition, it is important to note that about 30 students who have already completed this workshop will receive a certificate of participation signed by FAO's Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean, Julio Berdegué.
It should be noted that classes are currently being taught for the last group of students from Nicaragua, Colombia and Costa Rica, while the participants in the second group of Spanish speakers and the English-speaking group are in the final editing process of their audiovisual pieces.

1000 Digital Villages in Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative
In 2020, FAO launched the global 1000 Digital Villages Initiative to promote the digitization of services in rural areas.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, the initiative has been based on existing rural tourism experiences, promoting connectivity and providing resources and digital solutions for thousands of people to improve their services, employment opportunities and income.
There are currently 14 countries in the region participating in the initiative: Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Granada, Guatemala, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Venezuela.
In addition, 1000 Digital Villages is developing the Virtual community of young rural tourism entrepreneurs and creating an audiovisual repository with the tourism enterprises from each country.
