School feeding project brings together countries to discuss actions for 2023
Brasília, February 24, 2023. The regional project Consolidation of School Feeding Programmes in Latin America and the Caribbean invites professionals from countries in the region to participate in a webinar that will address the actions planned for 2023 on school feeding, carried out by the Brazil-FAO International Cooperation. The event will be held on March 8, at 4 pm (Chile time).
The regional project is developed by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ABC/MRE), the National Fund for Educational Development of the Ministry of Education (FNDE/MEC) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
According to Najla Veloso, coordinator of the project, “participation in this virtual event will allow countries to be included in the regional activities of the Brazil-FAO Cooperation and to schedule them in their annual programming," she said. "We are waiting for everyone for this important dialogue."
Among the regional actions planned for the year 2023 are the Technical Mission to the Dominican Republic for Caribbean professionals, in March, the II Congress of School Feeding, in May, in Brasilia, the Sustainable Schools Exchange Mission, in August , and the closing event of the regional project, in October.
In addition to that, the Brazil-FAO Cooperation approved for 2023 direct support for the implementation of strategic actions developed by some countries, especially those that implemented the Sustainable Schools methodology. Strategic actions are those that can promote the necessary advances in each of the school feeding programmes, such as internal missions, face-to-face events, exchanges of experiences, studies, surveys, publications, training, among others.
