Reports of Commission Sessions

The report on the first meeting of The Indo-Pacific Fisheries Council, held in Singapore from the 24th to 31st March, is presented. The Council’s Rules of Procedure were adopted and a chairman and Vice-Chairman were elected. The Council provisionally appointed two technical committees. A budget was also approved.
Working papers from the 1949 meeting are presented here including a proposal to establish a Panel of Experts and recommendations from the two technical committees. Among the topics discussed were: fish marketing in Batavia, boats and gear, storage and processing and distribution and socio-economics.
