Opening remarks by NFI Director Manuel Barange
Please join us at the launch of AquaGRIS, the world’s first public online database of farmed aquatic species and their wild relatives, developed by FAO in collaboration with countries, scientific experts and stakeholders through a consultative process spanning five years.
AquaGRIS is designed to support countries’ efforts to conserve and manage their aquatic biodiversity in line with the new global Guidelines for Sustainable Aquaculture (GSA) so that we can fight hunger while preserving the environment.
