Objective

This workshop aims to provide an opportunity to exchange experience and to discuss about sustainable management of fruit flies and reduce potential risk of chemical pesticides. It will explore scope for closer collaboration among countries regarding management of fruit flies in particular as well as other plant pests in general.

More specifically, the workshop will:

• exchange experiences related to skills of technicians in fruit fly management based on ecological approach and IPM principles.
• provide training on the application of ME and CUE, aspects on Sanitation, etc to control fruit flies.
• blend the fruit flies issues along with other important issues faced by farmers to develop the new FFS curriculum on fruit fly in order to enable IPM Trainers to run and manage FFS by themselves in their respective provinces.
