This year’s World Food Day observance in the Asia-Pacific region will be more important than ever, with the announcement of a new FAO Special Ambassador for Zero Hunger and presentation of credentials. The announcement will be followed by the presentation of Model Farmer awards to innovative agriculturalists from Fiji, Mongolia, Pakistan, Thailand and Viet Nam. The awards will be presented on FAO’s behalf by the event’s Guest of Honour, Her Royal Highness, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. The events take place at the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok.
