Asia-Pacific Food Forum

Bandar Seri Begawan | Brunei Darussalam

22/04/2026

The Asia-Pacific Food Forum convened by FAO is a regional platform to accelerate agrifood systems transformation through investment, science and innovation, and the leadership of women and youth. The Forum brings together governments, farmers, youth, academia, the private sector and partners to move from ideas to action and advance the Sustainable Development Goals and FAO’s Four Betters.

Agrifood systems across Asia and the Pacific face climate shocks, market volatility, food safety and nutrition challenges, rural out-migration, and unequal access to innovation and finance. An ageing farming population further threatens productivity and rural livelihoods. These trends risks undermining productivity, innovation uptake, and the long-term vitality of rural economies, food security, and food culture.

In the International Year of the Woman Farmer, the Forum highlights women’s leadership and the need to close persistent gender gaps. Youth engagement and digital innovation also offer major opportunities for resilient and inclusive transformation. Aligned with the World Food Forum, the Asia-Pacific Food Forum will connect priorities with practical solutions and mobilize partnerships for measurable, inclusive impact, particularly for rural women and young people.

Forum Objectives

  1. Promote investment for impact to advance food security, nutrition, resilience and rural employment, especially for youth and women.
  2. Showcase science and innovation to boost special agricultural products’ productivity, competitiveness, traceability, connectivity, accessibility, healthy diets while enhancing investment viability and scalability.
  3. Empower youth and rural women as key drivers of entrepreneurship, leadership and inclusive rural transformation.
  4. Strengthen partnerships and commitments across sectors and levels, aligned with WFF networks and FAO regional priorities.

Exhibition: Transforming Agrifood Systems — Invest. Innovate. Empower.

Through interactive displays, storytelling, digital features, and country showcases, the exhibition will highlight how FAO and partners are advancing inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems across the region. The exhibition will be held alongside the Asia-Pacific Food Forum and the 38th Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific, from 20–24 April 2026 in Brunei Darussalam.
