The Capacity Building Workshop on Nutrition: Advancing OCOP Products Value Addition is jointly organized by the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU). This workshop is designed to strengthen the technical capacity of officials, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders involved in the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of modern food processing techniques, product innovation, and strategies for market readiness. The focus will be on enhancing the nutritional value of Special Agricultural Products (SAPs), equipping attendees with the skills to improve product quality and competitiveness in the market.
This workshop will provide training to participants from Cambodia, Nepal, Bhutan, and Papua New Guinea, focusing on their respective priority products—mango, black cardamom, quinoa, and vanilla—while also expanding to include a broader virtual audience from across the Asia-Pacific region in response to the growing interest in mainstreaming nutrition into the OCOP initiative.
The main objectives of this capacity building workshop are to:
- enhance technical knowledge and skills,
- promote value addition and innovation,
- strengthen product quality and market readiness,
- build capacity for nutrition and health-focused products, and
- foster collaboration and knowledge sharing
