Regional WAAW Celebrations

Celebrated each year from 18-24 November, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is one of the most important global events of the United Nations calendar. Events are held in about 150 countries to bring various stakeholders together and promote awareness of AMR and prudent use of antimicrobials.

This year, WAAW is sustaining efforts to raise awareness of AMR and its threat to humans, animals, crops and environmental health. Stakeholders in human, animal and environmental health are encouraged to be AMR awareness champions in their family, community and work.

In Asia and the Pacific, #WAAW2021 is supporting the global campaign by focusing on promoting infection prevention and control and advocating animal health professionals from veterinarians to animal health workers to be empowered as AMR champions.

Get involved! Join us in raising awareness by starting to share this video on what AMR is and its impact on human, animal, crops and environmental health. Be inspired on how you can support WAAW by checking the Global Campaign Guide on WAAW.
