FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific

Evaluations in FAO aim to provide credible, useful and evidence-based analyses that feed into the policy and practice of FAO and its partners, therefore helping to achieve sustainable reduction of poverty and hunger, in line with the Organization’s agreed goals and strategic objectives.

Evaluation provides accountability to member countries and to the Director-General. It gives member countries a more in-depth understanding and objective basis for their decisions in the governing bodies and for cooperation in the Organization’s programmes.  Evaluation provides a sound basis for improvements in the Organization’s programmes in terms of their relevance to countries, definition of objectives, their design and implementation.
