The Government of Flanders is another long-term and appreciated partner of FAO's. In early 2021, Minister-President of Flanders, Jan Jambon signed a historic framework agreement to enhance the cooperation between the Government of Flanders and FAO on a range of international development issues.

The proposed project is aimed at building household food and nutrition security through integrated nutrition education and food security interventions and move towards commercialization of smallholder farmers food production. The project will assist MoAIWD in strengthening the implementation of the District Agricultural Extension Services System (DAESS) through strengthening of existing groups, advising on good agricultural practices adapted to local context and selected value chains, capacity building of DAESS and other extension service providers, and identifying ways to scale up good practices. | |
