Chosen for their outstanding contributions to food security and nutrition-related disciplines, these experts bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the HLPE-FSN Steering Committee.
The experts were appointed by the Bureau of the CFS, following a proposal by an ad hoc technical selection committee comprised of representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Food Programme (WFP), CGIAR and the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Mechanism for relations with the United Nations Committee on World Food Security (CSIPM).
This ad hoc technical selection committee applied rigorous criteria to assess and ensure scientific excellence, disciplinary diversity, geographical balance, and gender equity. The Committee carefully reviewed all applications and recommended a final list of fifteen experts to the CFS Bureau for appointment, ensuring transparency and integrity throughout the process.

HLPE-FSN structure, mission and key functions
Steering Committee members do not receive compensation from the HLPE-FSN, they participate in their individual capacities and not as representatives of any institution, and their participation is pro bono.
The HLPE-FSN expresses its deep appreciation to the outgoing Steering Committee members for their invaluable contributions to advancing science–policy dialogue on food security and nutrition.
The HLPE-FSN also wishes to warmly thank all those who put themselves forward as candidates and recognizes the exceptional quality and breadth of applications received.
A strong and diverse HLPE-FSN is the foundation of a solid and effective CFS, one that continues to advance evidence-based dialogue and inclusive decision-making towards more sustainable, resilient and equitable food systems for all.
