A side event at the 2017 High Level Political Forum

12 July 2017, 18:15 - 19:30 EDT
United Nations HQ, Conference Room 6
New York, USA

Achieving food security and sustainable nutrition requires integrated policy making across multiple policy areas. The 2030 Agenda recommends this be done by promoting policy coherence for sustainable development (PCSD – SDG 17:14). What does this mean in practice? This session draws on the extensive experience of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) and of the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM) to illustrate the importance of promoting policy coherence and build on lessons learned to this date, for sustainable progress towards poverty and hunger eradication.
