The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) will convene a multi-stakeholder dialogue tomorrow, 13 June 2025, discussing ways to strengthen the uptake of CFS policy products through concrete examples at the national, regional and global level. The dialogue will take place in a hybrid format, with in-person participation at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, and remotely via Zoom.
As part of the Action Plan to Strengthen the Uptake of CFS Policy Products at the 52nd CFS Plenary Session in October 2024, the event will provide a platform for Members and stakeholders to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and share lessons learned in promoting the use of CFS policy guidance.
CFS policy products represent the outcomes of inclusive intergovernmental negotiations, grounded in scientific evidence and broad multistakeholder dialogue. These voluntary instruments address a wide range of interconnected food security and nutrition issues, including land tenure governance, responsible investment in agriculture and food systems, gender equality, youth employment, and food systems transformation.
The dialogue will feature two segments focusing on experiences in the uptake of CFS policy products and a third segment for an open discussion among participants. Presenters will share how CFS policy products have been integrated into national policies and programmes, potential improvements in coordination and financing, and monitoring mechanisms supporting accountability and learning.
Through this exchange, CFS aims to foster inclusive engagement, promote coordinated action, and support the implementation of policy guidance that contributes to achieving food security and nutrition for all, in line with the CFS Multi-Year Programme of Work (MYPoW) 2024-2027.
