BFA-Net survey results
When the launch of BFA-Net was being considered, the Secretariat of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture conducted a survey of National Focal Points for Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture and National Focal Points for the Commission to gauge levels of interest in the establishment of such a network and obtain views what kinds of content would be of particular interest. Key findings included the following:
Ninety percent of respondents indicated that such a network would be “Very useful “or “Useful”.
The type of message regarded by the largest number of respondents as being of high priority for circulation over the network was “Sharing of experiences (problems, success stories, best practices, etc.) in BFA management”, followed by “Requests for advice or comments on BFA-management and policy issues” and “Information on research topics and projects”.
In light of these findings, we would like to encourage you to share your experiences in BFA management (at any level from field activities to policy-making) on the BFA-Net. For example you could highlight any interesting successes or any problems encountered.
